The Second Bloom: Why It’s Time to Live the Life You’ve Never Lived

🌿 The Second Bloom: Why It’s Time to Live the Life You’ve Never Lived

Something begins to stir in the soul at a certain point in life — often somewhere after 60. It might whisper through a dream, a deep sigh, or a quiet moment in the garden. It’s a question many of us feel rising up from within:

“Is there more of me yet to be lived?”

If you’re nodding your head, you’re not alone. In fact, this question marks the threshold of what I call the Regenospan — a sacred span of time not for decline, but for regeneration and a time to bloom. Not a fading out, but a blooming forward.

Robert A. Johnson, the eminent Jungian thinker, referred to this phase as the time to live your unlived life — all those parts of yourself that you tucked away while raising families, tending to careers, pleasing others, or merely surviving. His book Living Your Unlived Life serves as a love letter to this moment in a woman’s life.

You Were Never Meant to Shrink with Age — You Were Meant to Deepen and Bloom

Too often, society paints ageing as a season of retreat, invisibility, or decline. But in truth, it can be a sacred return to the self. It’s time to reclaim:

  • The dancer you silenced
  • The artist you postponed
  • The rebel you tamed
  • The mystic you buried beneath practical roles

Now is your time. Not to prove anything — but to become everything you were always meant to be.

The Regenospan is the Age of Wholeness

In Regenospan, I write about ageing as a regenerative arc — a second bloom, not a winding down. This idea echoes Johnson’s insight that we are called to unite life’s opposites in the second half of life.

No more split selves. No more either/or.

Now is the time to integrate:

  • Strength and softness
  • Logic and intuition
  • Caregiving and self-expression
  • Doing and being

He reminds us that being is not passivity. It is power in stillness, wisdom in presence, and transformation in simply being enough.

Let that sink in.

Talking Back to the Inner Critic

One of the gifts of this stage is the chance to clean house internally.

Johnson teaches us how to “talk back to ourselves.” We all carry inner voices — some kind, many critical. They echo old wounds and tired stories:

“You’re too old.”
“It’s too late.”
“Why start now?”

But those voices are not the truth. They are echoes. And we, now older and wiser, can speak back — lovingly, but firmly:

“Thank you for trying to protect me. But I choose something new now.”

Wholeness Comes from Integration

Perhaps the most powerful message of all: the goal is not perfection, but integration.

You don’t have to erase the past. You don’t have to reinvent yourself.
>You need to reclaim the parts you left behind — with love, forgiveness, and curiosity.

Wholeness is not about being polished.
It’s about being complete.

Why You Must Live a Lived Life Now and Bloom

Life is not over. The best of it may still be waiting.

Here’s why you must live a lived life — now, not someday:

  1. Because your joy matters.
Pleasure, passion, and purpose are not luxuries. They are medicine.
  2. Because younger generations need your example.
A woman who chooses herself — boldly and joyfully — permits others to do the same.
  3. Because regret is heavier than risk.
What if it isn’t too late? What if the very thing you think you missed is still possible?
  4. Because this is your second bloom.
Regenospan is your time to unfurl, create, and contribute from your deep wisdom.
  5. Because your soul came here to become whole.
Not to be perfect. Not to be pleasing. But to be authentic, integrated, and luminous.

Step into Your Regenospan

If this resonates, you’re standing at the threshold.

Step into the Regenospan — a phase of rebirth, joy, and soulful contribution.
Let go of the “shoulds.” Reclaim your being.
Talk back to the old voices.
And integrate all that you are — shadow and light, past and future, wound and wisdom.

Let your life become not smaller, but truer. Not dimmer, but brighter.

Because the unlived life doesn’t disappear — it waits.

And now, dear sister, is the time to say yes.
